University Police released photos of the suspect wanted for allegedly assaulting and robbing a female student Sunday evening.
The photos of the suspect — described as a dark-skinned black male, wearing a black and green striped shirt and dark pants — were uploaded to University Police’s website last night. He allegedly forcibly stole the victim’s cell phone and scratched her face — although she was not seriously injured — outside McKeldin Library at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday night, University Police spokesman Capt. Marc Limansky said.
There were no weapons involved in the incident, said Limansky, who added this was the first on-campus robbery of the year.
Police also released a surveillance video of the suspect recorded before the robbery, which can be found on the Department of Public Safety’s website.
